La pierre, la terre comme liens et liants de l’humanité
Alain Rivière-Lecœur commence sa carrière de photographe à New York dans les années 1990, il travaille et vit actuellement à Paris.
Grâce à ses multiples rencontres avec des artistes de tous horizons et ses diverses expériences en tant que grand voyageur, reporter, céramistes et amoureux du mouvement , celles ci lui ont permis d'expérimenter et d'explorer par la photographie ces nombreux domaines.
Il s'intéresse à la matière terre, à la glaise, à la pierre liens et liants de notre humanité, de notre univers.
Il a exposé à Paris, New York, Milan, Arles, Shanghai…
In The Heart of the Matter
Alain RIVIERE-LECOEUR, franco-american photographer, began his career in New York, working with portraitist Hans Namuth to learn lighting and technical rigor and stylist Don Sagramoso to reach an understanding of texture and organic matter.
Chairs de terre. Bodies captured in mid-movement. Man and mineral, skin and primal earth. A two-year personal project which captures, beyond mere human bodies, moments of intense emotion and abandonment.
In his previous work, Entre homme et animal, published by Seuil, the photographer already focused on, and explored, the meaning of intimacy. That which is born of the strong affection between man and animal.
In his new work, Chairs de Terre, the artist shapes and sculpts. Bodies are revealed through the organic matter that surrounds and binds them. The lens highlights the intimacy revealed by the contact between bodies and earthly matter.
